Indoor Exposure Assessment Working Group

1. Project title: Indoor Exposure Assessment within LCA

2. Type of Project: Commissioned

3. Number of participants: 13 members coming from 6 countries and 3 continents

4. Scope of the Project: Global

5. Period: May 2008 to 2010

6. Specific Goals

  • Show relevance of indoor emissions in a range of case studies
  • Make indoor exposure Assessment operational within LCA
  • Facilitate the Assessment of indoor exposure on the inventory level
  • Disseminate results by writing a book or a series of freely available papers on the Assessment of indoor exposure in LCA
7. Output until now:
  •  Hellweg S, Demou E, Bruzzi R, Meijer A, Rosenbaum RK, Huijbregts MAJ, McKone TE, Integrating Human Indoor Air Pollutant Exposure within life Cycle Impact Assessment, Environmental Science and Technology, 43,1670-1679, 2009 (freely available by Internet)
Case study papers:
  • Kikuchi Y, Hirao M, Practical Method of Assessing Local and Global Impacts for Risk-Based Decision Making: A Case Study of Metal Degreasing Processes, Environmental Science and Technology 42 (12),4527-4533
