Number of participants: 40-60 organizations from Latin American countries 4. Scope of the project: Latin America and the Caribbean 6. Specific Goals - Pinpoint the needs of the region,
- Increase coordination and understanding of sustainable resource management among key stakeholders in the scientific community and government administrations
- Improve their skills on these topics. In this way, governments and stakeholders will have the tools they need to improve coordination between agencies and develop consistent cross-cutting policies for the Sustainable Management (SRM) of their resources
- National action plans launched and opportunities identified for SRM in the Latin America and the Caribbean region
7. Outputs until now: - Launch of the Regional Project in Panama on 13th April 2010 with Government participants from 30 countries
- Drafted assessment report on resources available in the region
- Established network of 110 public officials and other relevant stakeholders in the Latin America and the Caribbean region.
